Summary:
$8,000 SIGN ON BONUS The purpose of this position is to administer house and physician/physician assistant/nurse practitioner prescribed treatments to residents, as well as supporting the charge nurse in the care-giving needs of the residents
Essential Functions:
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodationo Administer treatments, house or physician/physician assistant/nurse practitioner orders to residents o Accurately record in the electronic health record treatments and changes in condition of area being treated o Keep treatment cart clean and well-stocked with supplies o Observe for changes in resident's condition and take appropriate action o Determine the practical application of specific procedures for individual residents o Perform hand hygiene and conduct other infection control methods between treatments, resident, and as often as necessary o Document and chart facts and information in a professional, clear, and comprehensive manner o Recognize and respond to changes in residents' conditions and document observations, interventions, and outcomes o Recognize, intervene and report accidents and incidents when they occur o Participate in care plans as appropriate o Recognize, intervene, and/or report complaints and grievances from residents, family members, visitors, and employees o Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions, and other information relating to residents, employees and the facility o Follow the established universal precautions and isolation procedures o Encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in residents' personal and health care needs Required Skills:
o Attend and participate in orientation programs, on-going training and educational classes o Inventory and request infection control equipment, supplies, etco Assist in updating written policies and procedures on infection control of the facility o Participate in surveys made by authorized government agencies o Complete medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etco Communication skills and active listening o Possesses good interpersonal skills while dealing with emotional or difficult situations; Responds promptly to resident's needs o Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor Required Work
Experience:
o Minimum of six (6) months experience working in a hospital, long term care facility or other health care institution, with experience implementing total patient care and care planning Licensing/Certification/Education Requirements:
o Graduate from accredited school with a Licensed Practical Nursing degree o Current State of Tennessee License Practical Nurse license Other Requirements:
o Position may require unscheduled overtime, after hours, and week-end work o Must be willing and able to work flexible hours o Travel required Required Computer Software/Equipment used:
o Microsoft Excel and Word o Ability to learn HRIS and/or applicant tracking systems o Outlook o Standard Office Equipment o Computer Physical Requirements:
o Job will require frequent lifting of objects up to 40 pounds o Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling o Work is typically performed in a standard office environment; well-lit; comfortable temperature controlled; above-average conversational noise is frequent o The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this jobReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Required Safety Expectations:
